Golf Caddy Guide to:  Nevada

TPC at SummerlinTPC at Summerlin in greater Las Vegas Nevada 18-hole, private championship course is located in The Hills village not far from the Las Vegas strip. The golf course stretches to 7,243 yards. While natural desert washes and arroyos are prominent, the golf course is a haven for hordes of honey mesquite trees, flowing pines, lush bent grass and Bermuda grass covering wide fairways and huge, softly flowing greens. Created by Bobby Weed and Fuzzy Zoeller with abiding care and scrutiny, the TPC at Summerlin – like nearly all TPC properties – is a member of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program. The land on which Summerlin sits was once owned by Howard Hughes. In 1973, the millionaire's empire became known as the Summa Corporation; "summa" is Latin for "highest."  The name Summerlin comes from Hughes' ancestry. It was his paternal grandmother's maiden name. The TPC of Summerlin hosts the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospital tournament Until 2003, this tournament was played over five rounds over several other courses. Tiger Woods recorded his first PGA Tour win here in 1996.  This event became the first PGA Tour event in history to offer a total prize purse of more than $1 million. A tradition at the tournament is presenting the trophy to the champion while two showgirls are a part of the pomp and circumstance. The TPC Summerlin is Private Non-Equity golf course and is one of the leading clubs on the nationwide TPC Network of 23 world-class golf courses owned or operated by the US PGA TOUR. TPC Network: Membership gives you privileges at all 25 TPC Network facilities nationwide.
