The Atunyote Golf Club at Turning Stone Resort & Casino, in Verona in Upstate New York first hosted The Turning Stone Resort Championship - a PGA Tour professional golf tournament. It was played for the first time September 20-23, 2007. In 2007, it was the first of the seven Fall Series events played after the conclusion of the FedEx Cup, which was also introduced the same year. The prize fund was $6 million. The tournament's timing in the PGA Tour calendar changed in 2008. The 2008 Fall Series will begin before the conclusion of the FedEx Cup with the Viking Classic. After the Fall Series takes a week off for The Tour Championship, it will resume with the Turning Stone Championship. Turning Stone Casino and Resort is a resort owned and operated by the Oneida Indian Nation in Verona, New York. The facility opened July 16, 1993 and offers golf amenities (on- and off-site golf courses, one of PGA quality, and an indoor golf dome), an RV park, an arcade, many restaurants, a confectionery shop that sells many types of baked goods and desserts, table games (Poker, Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Pai gow poker, Let It Ride, Roulette), and many types of digital slot machines. Until the Seneca Niagara Casino opened, it was the only land-based casino in New York. The resort is a popular tourist destination in central New York State. En-Joie Golf Club

The En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott in Central Upstate New York was originally built for the employees of Binghampton based IBM Corporation which then hosted the B.C. Open was a PGA Tour golf tournament that was held annually from 1971 to 2006.  It took place simultaneously with the British Open during 2000–2006, so the leading players were not available and it was one of the smaller events on the PGA Tour schedule. Since 2006, Dick's has been the sponsor of the Dick's Sporting Goods Open golf tournament held at En-joie Golf Club in Endicott, NY each year. Originally known as The B.C. Open, after the Johnny Hart cartoon strip, the tournament has been a well-known stop on the PGA Tour. It is now a regular stop on the Champion's Tour circuit.
